Germany

If you are looking for rush of the city and want to travel more to the west, Germany will welcome you with open arms. Nearly three quarters of all our citizens would fit to the Berlin. The capital city that used to be divided by a 43 km long wall (the total length of the "border" was 155 km) to two parts. The wall is fortunately just a history and the Berlin is favourite destination for tourists more and more each year. Berlin is nine times bigger than Paris and only a few of you knows that it has more bridges than Venice.

Despite of fact that Germany has 81 milion inhabitants the population is declined. For last 10 years the population of Germany has been decreased by 2 milions. One of interesting facts of Germany is that as well as Iceland, Denmark (and a few other European and other countries) there are official rules about what names parents can choose for their child. It is possible that as an au-pair you will encounter this quite often.Despite of historical tragedies that took place in Germany, Berlin is trying to be very open to other nationalities and religions altogether.

If you are interested in learning German language be aware there is lot of chalenges coming with it. The longest German word has 79 letters - Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft – do you know what does it mean?

Thanks to Au-pair program you get a chance to explore this country, to learn still relatively widely used language, find new friends and enjoy everything that German culture has to offer.
